So it's been a year since I married my best friend. I still think about our wedding day and get this combating sense of calm v. elation. Everything about that day was perfect...from the weather, to all of our friends and family we loved the most being there, to the way all the planning came together, and of course, to the one who was standing at the end of the aisle, waiting to begin his life with me. And in an interesting turn of events... At one of the two weddings I went to this weekend (as a guest), the minister was Rev. Marvin, the one who married Neil & me. (Rev. Marvin was not our original minister because the original one called me at 11:30 a.m. the DAY of the wedding to say he was horribly sick....so Rev. Marvin was a sub...luckily, I had written 75 percent of our ceremony...and Rev. M was SUPERB at filling in the other 25...) Even with that mishap, I wouldn't change a thing about our wedding. :)
I am not at home right now, so am unable to post actual photos....but to see some of the photos from the most wonderful day of my life... go HERE and HERE....and then pics from our DAY AFTER. (Photos taken by Stacy Reeves & Lara Hanlon)
To hear the poem I wrote for Neil that our good friend Mike turned into a song and sang with his wife Tisha as as surprise during the ceremony....go HERE.
And we honeymooned at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica.
And then a few weeks ago, my dear pal, Clary Pfeiffer, took our anniversary photos since we weren't all that happy with our engagement photos. I met Clary through email, having admired her work and reached out to her. She was soooo sweet and soon because a counterpart in the journey of getting a photography business up and running. She is amazing. Inside, outside...with or without her camera. I am blessed to have met her and we are lucky to have these images of us, still in love, one year later. Here is one from the day... but please visit her blog to see more. :)
And to Neil, thank you for sticking by my side this last year. It has been such a full year...of stress...of big moments...of love. And knowing you'll be with me, wherever we end up, makes it exciting and endurable. I love you with my entire being (like a snail loves the sidewalk, wink wink) and cannot wait to celebrate more and more anniversaries with you.
