We bought two gingerbread house kits and went to town.
But I got distracted by the pretty colors.
(I accidentally loaded them at a poorer quality then usual, so they aren't super sharp. You'll get the idea though..)

While Neil was hard at work....

Now, let me preface this by saying, I have never before tried such a feat. In fact, just today, my mom...in a rueful e-mail...indicated how she had always wanted to make a gingerbread house with us kids. But time got away... so this one is for you, Mama!
And I must say, I had some fun making the Darbi G-bread Manor. I have no idea from where I got my color scheme!! Any ideas?
I was quite proud that my sloppiness with the icing on the roof resulted in real-esque icicles hanging!

so yeah, basically, if I had a studio made out of candy, this would totally be it. I know it looks like an "O" and "G" ...but it is a "D"... the candy was sooooo gosh darn hard...

I was very proud of Neil for doing it with me. He did such a great job. He described the roof as "avant-garde." Haha.

And a side-by-side of our two houses...

So there you have it. The efforts of my first night off since Thanksgiving. I'll have to get back to work tomorrow after my hair apppointment... I'll post again as soon as I have caught up a bit.
Happy weekend!!!
