Anyway, in addition to it being my favorite shoot, it was also the hardest and most exhausting. It was a sweltering 100 degrees out. And it lasted five hours--which followed an 8-hour workday at my other job.
My pal, Jennifer, came along and taped the whole thing...she'll have a video up sometime in the next month. For that, I’m even more excited! Another friend, Paige, was a dear, and allowed us to treat her like an elephant...she carried equipment, helped hoist Tisha into odd places and straightened out Tisha's dress. Despite all the misery, we had so much fun.
We started out the shoot at a junkyard. The owners were quite amused. We climbed around through stacks of old tires, which burned our skin if we touched them. We did our best to not require a tetanus shot…steering clear from rusty nails and tiptoeing over shards of broken glass.
From there we went to a tunnel that goes under a busy street toward the football stadium. I think we got some of our most beautiful shots here.
And this one is my absolute fave!!
After that, we headed downtown. One alleyway proved to be rife with photo ops. Such an urban, punk feel. Tisha rocked it.
The next destination proved to be the dirtiest: a construction site. Tisha climbed around bulldozers and the like….crawled into a claw of dirt…and hung from a really green machine. Finally her dress started looking used…and lovingly abused.
The outdoor venues were over. The Laundromat that sells beer was then next on our list. We did get some stares, but it was fun.
We had to satiate our growling tummies and weak limbs. We were getting worn out from the long, hot adventures. So off to SteakNShake we went. We got some of our cutest shots there…the server ate it all up (after we scarfed down some oh-so-healthy food). I sill need to send him the pics.
The last hit was Tisha’s place of managerial employment…Chuck E Cheese. We did capture some great shots atop the skee ball alleys…but the rest were all fun to take, too.
I got home around 10:30 that night. And I fought the aching bones in my body and my heavily laden lids long enough to edit a few shots. I think I was asleep 3 minutes after I hit the pillow.
I’ve edited several of the pics so far…and I’ve posted my faves here.
